Components of Auto Insurance

An auto insurance policy is a fairly complex product comprised of several types of coverage. While some of these coverage components are optional, such as rental and towing reimbursement coverage, liability coverage will be included with every car insurance policy.

Additionally, there are auto insurance components that are not always required but may be depending on your situation. For example, if you are financing or leasing a vehicle, you will almost certainly be required to carry comprehensive and collision coverage.

This section discusses in detail the many components of auto insurance, including liability coverage, comprehensive coverage, collision insurance, personal injury protection (PIP), and several others.
